A Look Into the Program
Over the past eight years, TFI’s internship program has welcomed 34 interns, with two of them now serving in senior management roles. Below, you’ll find Ryan and Megan—both former interns who have grown into management positions within the organization. We’re also excited to share stories from recent interns who returned to TFI after completing their studies.
Ryan - 2013 Intern

I am a proven and passionate leader, am just one of many current examples to reference when thinking of the trucking industry. During and after my four-year stint at Wilfrid Laurier University, I found a perfect opportunity to join the Contrans Group. Within my time period with TFI and their numerous divisions, I was involved in three different groups where I had an opportunity to broaden my skillset through dispatching, administration work, and safety.
Megan - 2013 Intern

I started my role at Contrans in 2013. I discovered the company through my co-op program at Wilfred Laurier University. Before starting my role in the company, I had minimal managerial experience. After being interviewed with Contrans, several factors sparked my interest such as flexibility, opportunity, as well as the ability to understand how a business operates.

As a Terminal Manager and student mentor with TFI, I’ve had the privilege of witnessing the company's growth potential firsthand. My journey began in 2019 when I joined Contrans as a Solutions Analyst Intern, entering the transportation industry with no prior experience. I was grateful to have earned the trust of management, experienced strong support, and benefited from a positive office environment. Within five years, I was proud to be promoted to Terminal Manager—a reflection of TFI’s commitment to nurturing talent and fostering professional development. Today, I remain dedicated to shaping the next generation of leaders through our dynamic internship program..

Josh - 2022 Intern
Starting in 2022, my internship experience has played a foundational role in shaping my career journey. TFI’s internship program allowed me to explore many different sides of the business, from operations and dispatch, to sales and recruitment. Getting the chance to rotate through roles ensured I could make an informed decision on long term career goals. As i have continued full time as a Business Development manager, I continue to lean on the skills and network I formed during my internship.
